Hi, thank you for clicking on me! This is just going to be a section to show you the process of my art, mainly for my own peace of mind.
I try my best to show and explain it using a piece I think can put it into perspective a lot easier [[::
(Wont be viewed correctly on mobile)
There are a few steps before this, the process of posing and shaping the 3D model, but I will be trying to make this as simple as possible.-I paid for the program (DesignDoll), I made my own 3D (human) models, I pose my own models and I try new ideas/perspectives regularly.
-Any 3D model objects I use, for example the gun in this piece, are all used from free 3D model websites such as TurboSquid or CGTrader. After I have had an idea I go about posing the model in various poses to see what looks best to me in my head. Most times it takes nearly an hour before I can find something that works.
(This is just a disclaimer, but due to past events please do not go out of your way to try to copy my "style" of 3D model/my art style. You may not agree with my art process by the end, but please don't be purposefully malicious)
Now you might think I might have missed a step, but I go straight into rough lining out what I have planned. Normally I have a ton of reference pictures of the clothing and I used my own hoodie sleeve to ref the twist of his jacket on his arm.
The one thing I will admit is that I did trace the goggles from a screenshot of Han from the GMYTMI music video, that's it really and I rarely need to do it either.I do not add every detail into the rough lines
The next step is to actually line everything. (Least favourite part lol)
This is where I also make a few changes if I do not end up liking the way it is going, changing the eyebrows and opening the mouth are the most obvious examples in this piece. Normally this is the longest part for me because I stop and come back to it over the span of a few days. (Great way to improve! /srs)
After getting all the lines down that I like, then I will fill in the flat colours, and then I almost instantly shade/render the skin. (My favourite part!)
Details for the hair and clothes too, plus a background colour for this piece.
The goggles are back now since I lined them separately from the main lineart. Adding lighting, effects and more details when necessary.
And finally, shadows and extras to make it more interesting to look at! Along with my signature [[::
Thats it! Not to make it seem like its easy, because it truly is not. I have been drawing this way for a few years now so I have had my ups and down with this process but this is how it is most enjoyable for me to draw, lets me visualize things a lot easier and keeps me grounded in one idea at a time.
To get from the blank, lifeless 3D model at the start to a completely new drawing at the end does take something and I hope people understand and see it.
If you have any questions, please feel free to message me on discord or twitter!

Heres an example of the same process from a piece done in 2015. Of course I didn't know everything I know now but I hope that it shows that I still have grown as an artist despite the way I do it.
